Business Development Manager — Hospitality & Events

Central and East London (field-based) Full-time — Rolling monthly contract £2,000/month + £2,000/quarter OTE — £30–40k annualised Start: ASAP

The Opportunity

Able is an AI-enhanced staffing platform that makes gig workers instantly bookable through verified digital profiles called "gigfolios" — matching skills, availability, and credentials in real time. Workers keep 100% of their earnings. Venues pay 8% instead of the 30–45% that traditional agencies charge.

We're partnering with nine East London boroughs through the Connect to Work programme, and we need someone who will walk into every restaurant, hotel, bar, event venue, conference centre, and catering company across central and East London and sign them up. Every door, every floor.

This is a hands-on, target-driven, pavement-pounding role where your commission is tied to one thing: venues making bookings.

What You'll Do

  • Walk central and East London signing hospitality and events businesses to the platform
  • Make initial contact in person, then follow up with phone demos to decision-makers via your own Google Calendar booking link
  • For high-value prospects, offer a direct demo with the CEO via QR code calendar link
  • Convert sign-ups into active bookings — that's how you earn commission
  • Introduce venues to Able's broader talent pool: social media managers, web developers, HR specialists, and creative professionals
  • Own your pipeline end-to-end in HubSpot
  • Feed back venue needs and market intelligence to shape the product

Who You Are

  • You know London hospitality and events — especially central and East London. You've worked in it, sold into it, or managed within it.
  • Familiarity with East London boroughs is a strong advantage — we're partnering with nine of them through the government's Connect to Work programme.
  • You're a natural door-opener. Rejection fuels you.
  • You care about fair work. You've seen how agencies treat people and you want better.
  • You thrive on targets and own your numbers.
  • You want to build something meaningful at an early stage, with real impact on the business.
