About Able

Built to be good, fair and kind - to workers and businesses alike.

Our Mission

Able was created with the belief that there are fundamental problems with how we work together, and how work is organised.

From wage theft and the intensity and rigidity of full-time work, to the structural exploitation baked into most gig/freelancer platforms - the system is broken.

But beneath the mess, we believe work can, and should, be empowering.

What if AI could remove some of the system noise (for example, the need to prepare job descriptions, complete applications, and interviews), and simply match the right person to the right gig?

The benefits are filled shifts, but our AI also recognises skills and development needs, and supports smarter workforce planning.

No more posting, chasing, ghosting, or waiting. Just fluid, fast, fair matching, powered by technology-enabled trust and real-world ability.

Able is fast. Human. Values-led.

"In the morning, when you rise unwillingly, let this thought be present: I am rising to the work of a human being."

- Marcus Aurelius

How Our AI Works

Our AI recognises patterns that matter. Instead of filtering people out with generic keywords or bias, it listens to what you say, how you say it, your availability, location, and what kind of work actually suits you.

It uses semantic matching (tone, style, and substance), vector search (what your words mean), and live signals from the app - like recognition, badges, behaviours, and results.

It also considers availability patterns, responsiveness, and match outcomes over time; learning what makes a great experience for both sides.

We deliberately exclude bias-prone data like age, gender, or ethnicity, and there are no star ratings - we focus instead on real-world performance, intent, and fit.

For businesses, this means finding the right person instantly, with trust, compliance, and clarity already built in.

"Nine to five, for service and devotion"

- Dolly Parton

The Team

Alexandra Wright, Founder & CEO of Able

Alexandra Wright

Founder & CEO

Alexandra built Able from a simple conviction: the way gig work is organised is broken, and it doesn't have to be. She spent years in Fortune 100 transformation - as a VP at BlackRock leading strategy and systems implementation, and as a management consultant at Deloitte - before turning that expertise toward the people who keep the world running shift by shift.

Able applies the same rigour of enterprise systems thinking to a problem that has always been human at its core: matching the right person to the right task, quickly and fairly, without the bureaucracy that makes it harder than it needs to be.

The platform is backed by Innovate UK and works with the Government Connect to Work programme and the Mayor of London. It operates under a simple set of values: Be Good. Be Fair. Be Kind.
